About 130 years ago, this farm land was bought through a court auction. At that time, there was a sand dune  which indeed was a Patti, as identified by some of the elders of the Village .  Family member of the  landlord intended to keep the Sand dune limited only  to Patthi , so he showed his feet towards the Patthi  ( to worker clean it up to make it cultivatable  land )due to which he met with an accident and lost his legs. One of the workers who cleaned the Patthi was affected by an illness known as vysuri due to which he lost both of his eyes, these incidents prove the power of the deity.

Every year on Shivarathiry, the people of  Bhudhana kula gothram come together make pooja with 108 asthothram and 1008 sthothram. Even pooja during Amavasya   is held here. Every 3 years once, a  periya pooja is held.

In the year 1967, due to some unfortunate events, the periya pooja was paused. Thirty years later, on 23-05-1997 the periya pooja resumed, to this date the pooja is being held once every three years.

This place is unique as only Vegetarian pooja is done here.

Patthi mandapam evolution :

On 23-05-1997 during the periya pooja, the god came in the priest and stood in front of the patthi and threw 4 sticks in 4 directions where the building is constructed. For God’s statue, they used mud from multiple places. First, they started the pooja in a hut, slowly it evolved into what it is right now.
